About

With a major in public relations at Kansas State University, my ultimate career goal is to design and manage the social media strategy for an athletic clothing company. Cool right? This career path would include all of my interests and passions because I am also pursuing minors in both Spanish and kinesiology.

Last year I had the privilege of doing a high intensity internship for AlexanderG, Public Relations, LLC. As an assistant account executive this gave me an in-depth view of the public relations industry. While shadowing account executives and the principal partner, my responsibilities included conducting client research and services, blog writing, press release drafting and distribution, and developing social media content. This internship was an opportunity that I am so grateful for and it gave me great insight into the world of public relations.

Amid my professional experience at AlexanderG, Public Relations, LLC. I was introduced to blogging. My second blog post even surpassed the record on their company blog with 127 hits in a single day. As well as writing blogs for the company, I was inspired to start a personal website (this one you are one right now) to pursue my love of writing. This provided me a new outlook on writing and the possibilities that come with it.

For 13 years I was part of a swim team, as an individual sport swimming taught me responsibility and self-motivation. The results I wanted were dependent on my personal performance and the time I devoted to it embedded these characteristics into my personality. Towards the end of my swimming career at orientation for my first job , we were encouraged to leave our problems at the door and come in with a positive attitude. I have found maintaining a positive attitude creates not only a better environment for yourself but for those around you. Responsibility, self-motivation and positivity are carried with me in everything I do.

For now, I am just a college student (getting way to close to graduation way to fast), working hard to pay my way through and learn all I can, but having a blast at the same time. Go Wildcats!
